The Heart Of
kyhu came from a place of seeing a broken person (me), a broken system, a broken way of thinking/doing things and a desperation to be free from it. I remember so clearly on my way to work one day, I saw myself as a hamster running on a wheel. Wake up...drop off...go to work...pay the bills...pick up...cook dinner...do homework...baths....bed...wake up and do it all over again. I felt like a tiny little worker ant, scrambling to and fro to bring the queen everything while she was nice, cozy and safe deep inside the anthill. I was frustrated, tired, angry, fed up with this system of slavery and all the lies and broken promises told to us and the lies and broken promises we've told ourselves. I realize now, in hindsight, all those feelings were from God, waking me up out of my slumber! Showing me just how backwards things had gotten. Creating a hopelessness in me until I finally turned to THE ONLY ONE Who had the answers.
kyhu is what was conceived in me that day, and just like most pregnancies, you may not know right away that your pregnant, you may not know the gender, or the eye or hair color, you may not know a lot of things until the baby is born and so too with kyhu. The gestation period has been a long one, there have been those amazing days of being pregnant where you are glowing and there has been those days of morning sickness, tiredness, discomfort. I would feel the kick some days and get so excited and then I would feel nothing and get scared. Then this pandemic hit and the birth pangs began and I knew...it's time to push. It's time to bring forth this baby. I pray with ALL my heart that those who read this and know Christ are blessed and encouraged, but most of all I pray that those who don't know Him begin to learn about the REAL God, the REAL Son and the REAL Holy Spirit, not the lies and hypocrisy that so many have taught by their EXAMPLE. Jesus walked a life of perfect LOVE, He told the truth about things that may be hard for some to swallow, but He told it out of LOVE not judgement, not because He wanted to start taking down names of who's on their way to hell. No actually, it is EXACTLY opposite of that! I really hope you are able to see and learn His love here at kyhu! He changed my life and He can change yours too all you have to do is kyhu!

In my "great awakening" I discovered that God created me with a purpose, something I was never taught. I had always been taught that we are here to fill our roles, get married, have kids, take care of your family. Thank God He saved me and showed me that He created me for SO MUCH MORE than just that! that I didn't have to be complacent anymore, that my purpose was not to just be some worker bee helping others to become rich. It was not to be just a wife or a mother, even though, that is amazing enough and something to be honored, but there was more, much more to be discovered in the intricate fabric of my being. I had been taught to hate all the little nuances about myself. I was too loud, rebellious, lazy, selfish. I needed to lose weight and fix myself up or nobody would love me. I should be more like somebody else, and on and on...nothing new or different for most of us, only they were lies designed to keep us from embracing our true selves, yeah we may have been a little rough around the edges but at the root of it was our true character, we just needed to learn how to groom it. They were false ideas of who I SHOULD be based off of their multitude of opinions. I Thank God everyday for setting me free to be who I was meant to be!
He began to show me that all those characteristics that were not appreciated or nurtured would serve it's purpose, my purpose! He began to show me the passion I have for hurting people and injustice, which is exactly why my loud rebellious mouth would always get me into trouble! I began to see that this fiber of disgust for injustice had always been a part of me. When I look back on my younger days, I was always sticking up for the underdogs! If you were a friend of mine growing up, you KNEW I had your back! I hated to see any kind of injustice, and I wouldn't bite my tongue about it!
kyhu is about being true to who I am, and I have learned that I am a freedom fighter! One of the injustices I became aware of and have become passionate about fighting is human trafficking. God gave me the idea for kyhu as a brand...His brand! To make shirts and accessories and create residual income, because without money, you can't really help anybody, especially when your fighting against a million dollar industry! kyhu is not about getting rich, it's about supporting my family, yes, because I have to support my family, but it is just as equally about helping hurting people and even more so because even though we are not wealthy by no stretch of the imagination, my family is safe, healthy and happy, which is more than enough for me.

We see no need in dividing resources, though there are plenty of places available to get more cost effective products to increase our profit margin, profit is not our goal! Besides, the quality is AMAZING, made by amazing people with amazing stories of victory and freedom. The T-shirt fabric is 100% organic cotton or organic cotton blend, they recycle sari fabric for certain bag designs and accessories and most of all they have a heart for the people they employ, and it shows in the craftsmanship of their products. We are also looking for other companies to source items that we can not get from Freeset to enhance the kyhu Brand with items like coffee mugs/ceramics, jewelry, decorative boxes, artwork etc... Each company will be chosen intentionally depending on what they offer and how they are helping their community. Businesses that fight for justice and give gainful employment to help marginalized people and communities become independent and give them a source of income so they can take care of themselves & their families, free from shame, oppression and terror. Businesses that are not in it for selfish gain to get rich at the expense of others, but businesses that realize that while they do need to provide for their family and their families deserve a good life, so do their employees!
